Payment and Cancellation Policy
Last updated: November 2, 2026. Fazal & Son Inc. serves Kitchener, Ontario and surrounding communities within about 50 km. This policy is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply in Ontario.
Estimates and contracts
Estimates are free. Work begins after you accept a written contract that states the scope, price, taxes (HST where applicable), payment schedule and timeline.
Payments
Payments are made in stages as set out in your contract, usually a deposit before work starts, progress payments at agreed milestones and a final payment after the completion walk-through. We accept payment methods listed in your contract.
Holdback
Where the Ontario Construction Act applies, a 10% holdback is kept from payments to the contractor for the period required by the Act. Details are explained in your contract.
Changes
Changes to the scope, materials or schedule are agreed in writing and may change the price and timeline.
Cancellation
You may cancel in writing. Where Ontario consumer protection law gives you a cancellation right, such as the cooling off period for certain contracts signed at your home, we will honour it. Otherwise, if you cancel after work or ordering of special order materials has started, you are responsible for work already completed and for non-returnable materials ordered for your project. Any unused deposit is returned after these costs are deducted.
Delays
Dates are estimates. Weather, permit and inspection timing, material availability and changes may affect the schedule. We will keep you informed of delays.
Late payment
Overdue balances may be subject to interest as stated in the contract. If payment is overdue, we may pause work after written notice.
